Head of Coffee Dave has travelled to Rwamatamu, Rwanda, to assist with grouping the harvested coffee into lots based on their cupping profiles. He is joined by Fiona of Glen Lyon, Peter of James Gourmet, Sidney of Lot 20, and Dom Pulleyn.
Two years ago in 2023, Dave visited Rwamatamu for the first time, getting a good look at their facilities as he conducted a few yeast experiments with them.
Fast forward to 2025: Dave is back again to help out with lot grouping, and a couple days into the visit he only has positive things to say about the developments taking place at Rwamatamu.
‘Incredible first day at the new station. Mega impressed with the investment and developments that have taken place since I was last here in 2023.
Gaston and Laetitia are an incredible force and super proud of the growth they have achieved. Particularly impressed with the processing - screening - storage and labelling of coffee stocks. Coffees cupped are better quality than ever and it’s going to a tough week blending the lots.’
