The youth group is one of our Producer-Led Projects, where roasters can contribute to community initiates managed by the people that grow their coffee.
One of our roasting partners, Steampunk, has made the generous donation of pigs for the youth group that Rwamatamu in Rwanda organises.
The youth group is a collection of 18-35 year olds who are interested in learning how to cultivate coffee. Rwamtamu purchased a piece of land in their name and is educating them on best agricultural practices as well as how to process and cup their own coffee.
These pigs will be an excellent source of manure that members of the group can use to enrich the soil they grow coffee trees in.
