Original update from January 13th
Ahead of the January 15th election in Uganda, the national communication authority has ordered the suspension of all internet services from January 13th, with no given end date. The reason given is to prevent “online misinformation, disinformation [and] electoral fraud... as well as preventing [the] incitement of violence”.
Our friends in Uganda have been in touch to give us notice of the blackout, and are doing their best to organise and continue operations around the restrictions.

Addition on January 19th
Internet services across Uganda are being partially restored, and we have contact with the team at Agri Evolve, who are all doing well following the 2026 election, which saw President Yoweri Museveni continuing into his seventh term of leadership.
