In Burundi, coffee trees usually begin to flower in September after rain that marks the end of the dry season. However last year the rains came early, leading to early flowering and now an early harvest.
Usually producers Migoti would expect to start receiving cherries in late March, but this season farmers began bringing their crop in April.
