‘I am 29 years old and I have 3 kids. I am with Agri Evolve for 1,5 year. I was a chef at a lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park and after that I worked for an NGO where I sensitized people on good agricultural practices.’
‘I train farmers in the Rwenzori region. I enjoy my work very much. It creates good relationships with the farmers. People are adopting the new methods slowly by slowly. Pruning for instance, helps a lot to get the best possible coffee. But for many this is new, so they now adopt. Changes take some time.’
‘We are now preparing farmers to go to the next level. This means farming according the UTZ and Rainforest Alliance certifications. UTZ inspection is coming in April 2018, so by then we hope to have our first UTZ certified farmers. I attended training by UTZ and I am now bringing this knowledge to the farmers.’
